Agrotourism, as an independent direction of tourism, was formed on the European continent in the second half of the 20th century. Its development in Europe began in the 1960s, in the Italian region of Tuscany. Its main essence is that city dwellers get to know the life of the village, assimilate folk traditions, live in an ecologically clean environment, receive healthy products and get acquainted with the tradition of production. In addition, agrotourism is the best way to popularize and preserve the country's culture, traditions, customs, folklore.
A distinctive tradition for Pshavista and Tianeti, part of its identity is the technology of making dambalkhacho, which has been around for more than 2 centuries and has been granted the status of an intangible monument by the Ministry of Culture. At the same time, it is one of the 64 geographical designations of origin registered in Sakpatenti. When a product has its own history and tradition, the technology of its production becomes doubly interesting.
We offer our visitors:
Authentic experience – although technological progress has brought us to the highest standards of comfort and coziness, the feeling of authenticity has been lost in this process. Agrotourism is based on precisely these kinds of experiences. By incorporating contact with tradition and the past into the production process, which is very sensitive, especially for people with a long history themselves
Gastronomic travel – the connection between culture and cooking is most clearly visible precisely where this food or drink itself is born. Getting to know the place of origin of a dish and master classes, in addition to enjoying its taste and aroma, also helps us understand its uniqueness and content.
Enjoying the beauty of nature – Tianeti is very beautiful with its nature and is recognized as a green municipality. The town, located just 65 kilometers from Tbilisi, is surrounded by mountains and is located at an altitude of 1180 meters above sea level. It has a river, beautiful forests, fields and many historical monuments.
